om617a fuel pump/ vacuum shutoff

Hi,
Does anyone know the pressure and volume of the mechanical/hand pump? The engine I bought is missing this assembly, and I was thinking of blanking it off and going electric. I can get a new electric pump cheaper than a used mechanical one from the wrecker. It's being swapped into my unimog so I'll be building the fuel system from scratch anyways.
Now, about the vacuum shutoff. I don't have any other need for vac on the unimog, so what is the preferred method of mechanical shutdown? I assume, a pull cable hooked somewhere on the throttle linkage at the valve cover.
Thanks PJL

Personally, I would not put an electric pump on a diesel. One of the big advantages of a diesel is that it can run without electricity. Not so, if you put that kind of pump on it. Around here, a pick and pull would sell that part for about $5.
I think you would have to hook up a cable to the mechanical shut off lever above the IP to get a manual shut off. My 409d which has nothing else vaccum on it, uses vacuum to operate the shut off. You'd have to use a diesel ignition switch to do it, but it might be easier to do that rather than cable up the manual shut off lever.

fuel pump

Unfortunately the pick a part here doesn't see any 300d's that I've seen, and it would only be 5 bucks. The Mercedes wrecker wants a 100 bucks for his. Ouch!
