1990 with a '94-'95 hood on e-bay?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2447246350&category=6330
is this possible? or has this car probably been totaled and rebuilt with the wrong parts?

Many people (myself included) prefer the later style hood and lights and make the changes as an upgrade. It has been discussed here at Mercedesshop before.
Even if it was hit, there's no way those parts were used by "accident." The owner wanted them.

The wood on the console does not match the wood on the center stack either.

That looks like a POS. They used the old headlight wipers and didn't locate them properly! Besides looking awful they may not work right either. What a cob job. Also, the wheels are the wrong offset. They're either S-class wheels or 500E wheels, I'm not sure which - I bet they will rub the fenders under hard cornering. The center console burl walnut wood was replaced, the ashtray & ACC wood is original and badly faded. Yuck all around... :p
