High bids on Mercedes van

This one is getting up there and the reserve is not even met yet. It's nice but it seems like a very high price.

Sorry.
It seems like a lot for a van whose top speed will be lucky to be 55mph. It's probably got the 220d engine or the OM314 but in either case it's going to be slow by US standards.

I'm guessing the current owner bought it in California and drove it home. In the process he realized it wasn't fast enough for him. It'd be good for an around-town church bus, or something like that. On the interstate, it would probably be dangerous.

That 409 is no Sprinter.

I think those old MBZ bus/vans are über cool but, no way is that vehicle worth any $10k+.

It would be cool to have one rigged to collect and process WFO while underway.

Were those even sold new in the US? I like how the ad compares it to the Sprinter. I drive busses for my school, and we have 2 Sprinters. I occasionally sub for paratransit drivers and find the Sprinter to be just as comfortable as my VUE is to drive. I hardly think the van in the ad would be.
