Now she could get lucky and the repair could
last 10 years or if not,10 days.

I have a policy,don't skimp on brakes and
exhaust.

I've known people that buy used brake and
exhaust parts.

I am not a diesel owner, nor a diesel head.

I just love his his insights and opinions, especially his philosophy on oil changes, "Change it hot and change it often".

I notice he has been posting today after a long absence.

I have also met Larry for dinner on two separate ocassions when I was in Dallas on business. He is just as nice in person as he is on the website.

Although I love the simplicity of wind up windows, manual sunroof, manual climate control, etc., etc., of the 240D, I'm with leathermang when it comes to the REAL advantage of a 240D. I'll bet I could remove and replace the engine in a 240D twice in the same amount of time it would take to do the same thing in a 300D.

BTW. I am currently unemployed. I'm doing my best to change that. Times are tough, especially when it comes to being in your fifties trying to find a job.

I got back my latest ASE scores today and I'm now ASE MASTER! Unless I can come up with a job soon, I may have to load the toolbox in the truck and go somewhere and use my ASE certification to make a living with.

You are right. I forgot about Anaheim. That's twice in Dallas, and once in Anaheim.

Larry, I thought you were working as a service advisor at a local dealer. Did it not work out?

Good luck on finding a new job. I know it must be difficult finding a new job in your fifties. I hope it doesn't happen to me.

Congratulations on the ASE Master certification! At least you'll be able to find a job as a mechanic.

These days many shops won't want to pay you the money you deserve because of your certs. It seems to happen when you're so called "over-qualified". I hope I'm wrong and some good shop snaps you up.

The Service Advisor job didn't work out for several reasons, the least of which being that the month I started they only sold 216 cars versus their normal 500+.

I'm not panicing yet. I have some possible things going. It is difficult to find a job in December. If I'm still not getting anywhere in January, then panic will be justified.
