Where to find EPC
Hey All,
I'm looking to find a copy of the MB EPC for 124 chassis cars, preferably with a price list. Does anyone know where I can find a copy? I'm going to need a lot of parts replacing my OM603's head, and I don't feel like bugging Rusty or the Dealer for the part number on every last one of em... Mike |
speedy300turbo something or other (sorry for the lousy memory) can point you in the right direction for a copy of the EPC.
You want to bug Phil or Rusty. First - it's their job and they like doing their job, second - they know what you need while neither the EPC nor MB parts counter guy has a clue. The EPC isn't job specific and the MB parts counter guy wasn't born when the 603 was in production. Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL 83 300SD ... $950, see cars forum |
Thanks, I'll try and find speedy on the board and contact him.
Problem: lately, Rusty's parts prices have gone up to retail + shipping (I hear this is because MBUSA shipping prices have skyrocketed). Amazingly, my local dealership sells parts for retail without markup... plus, the dealership tends to get oddball stuff they don't have in stock much more reliably than Rusty's drop-shipments from MBUSA. I'm not going to bug Rusty if I don't intend on purchasing from him, and naturally I don't trust the parts counter guy. EPC seems the way to go for me... Thanks again, Mike |
See the FastLane and PartsShop links at the top of the page... ;)

there was a ftp site called mickeys
The EPC was posted there.... It's nice to see all the parts... Expect parts prices to go up- the exchange rates SUCK!!! Watch barrel was $3 is now $33 one year later. Everyone had not passed on the price increases then whamm everyone adjusts at once. Micahel |
Samiam:
I downloaded the EPC from Mickey's site way back when, burned it according to directions, was installing it but hit one wrong button... exited and tried again, never worked after that. Ran the uninstall program, re-burned the disc, everything short of downloading the ISO again or reformatting the hard drive. I was hoping to find another option! Mike |
If you're not going to use two different CD ROM drives... don't waste you're time. If you get the DLL errors... I may be able to help!
|
Two CD-ROM drives? Why 2?
|
Because the EPC is distributed as a 2-CD set, and both CDs must be loaded.

Yes, and you can TRY to use the "virtual" CD ROM drive software that is out there... but trust me. For the $19 you can buy another CD ROM drive for... get the drive!!
|
Do both CDs have to be loaded for the install process to start (I always got an instant error) or are my copies bad?
Might go buy a cheap-o. Mike |
O/S is key
This software is normally meant only for a networked environment so if you're trying to install on anythng short of win 2K you can have problems.
Not that I know, really... |
Win2k Pro here. It all installed fine when I first tried, but like I said, I hit a wrong button and had to exit install. I don't think the program ever got fully un-installed, despite my using the uninstaller program included.
Format HD? Nah. Gotta be a better way! Mike |
