Weighing in...
Not too much has gone on with me-I realize I have had Greta for close to a year now, however-time flies when you are under the hood. Let's see:
New tires shortly after purchase Thorough cleaning of factory carpets-looks sparkly. I highly recommend a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and Hydrogen Peroxide. Gets nearly anything out. Installation of correct German Army "Bundeswehr" wool blanket in trunk for emergencies New Nissens radiator that worked great for the thirty seconds before the fan blade gored it-turns out it was motor mounts I needed too. Repairs ongoing as finances and lack of injuries allow. Coolant re-installed with correct Zerex for M-B. New, matching trunk lid-no paint necessary! Subsequent removal of all misnomer nomenclature. Stealth appearance is the result-I can stalk the 300e in it's natural habitat without raising any headlight eyebrows.... Replaced original interior with newer-style sport seats from a '92 400e. Will eventually replace door panels with take-offs from same, but not before replacing leather middle inserts with Palomino leather in simulated ostrich print. Will also replace wood veneers when I learn how to properly do it. Purchased vintage-looking Kenwood CD head unit to replace Becker cassette-the Kenwood has all the same colors, a white backlit display, and has a "two knob" appearance-unlike other replacement units, it looks like it belongs there. Decent speakers/amp setup soon to follow as well. Waiting on a harness plug to make it all easy. Since I have decided to keep her, 2008 will consist of: Replacing IP washers and seals, and then steam-cleaning the driveway Possible window-tinting Delving into the problems with my climate control Checking for the source of ABS not working Replacement of suspension parts causing my "clunk" upon shifting Replace hood pad-or more accurately, PLACE hood pad Install under-body pan replacement Flesh out WVO conversion Finally get to a Get-Together! alrighty then. first thing I can think of as far as upgrades to my SD... I put in a fender mounted selanoid for starting when something goes awry with the ignition key, from there, I added a remote power fuse block under the dash, with several fused take offs for powered items, so far all I have installed is a 12v power socket, but plans are in place for a 120v inverter, and various other goodies. it's nice to have a fuse block inside the car. the radio has been replaced... speedo has been upgraded from an 83 for the 120mph part... um, that's it so far on the SD, the TD is a constant work in progress, but I have temporarily sold it, so I get paid to upgrade it for now. and I get it back when the owner is ready to upgrade it.

Well that depends........
Does spending $3,000 on a new crossmember count? Oh, yeah and $74 on mats.

YES, since my 5 year old son and his 5 year old cousin love to sit in the third row. Fortunately nothing happened and it is all better now. Unfortunately my wife and I have reached the end of our funds to spend on that car. It is time for someone else to adopt it.
