Hub nut

My RR wheel hub will wobble up and down, and I've determined that the "hub nut" that tightens the hub/bearings/races simply needs to be tightened to pull everything together. I called a dealership to ask about the tool to tighten this nut, and the guy said it was about $300-350 bucks!
How do yall tighten up this nut without said tool? A screwdriver/hammer situation in the recesses?

Have you checked with www.samstagsales.com to see how much the actual tool will cost? Sounds as if they feel there may be parts that need replacing. I haven't dived into the rear hubs so I can't be of much help there. Maybe someone here has.

Take a look at this thread.. A forum member "Lars" did his with a tool he bought from ZDMak for $25 and a little trimming on a lathe. If you don't have a lathe perhaps a local machine shop could trim it for you.

Successfully replaced rear wheel bearings
