My tires don't work well in the snow. Here's the E300D in about 1 1/2 inches of snow. At least I know the ASD is working!

Brrrrr. I love the icicles.

Why do you keep your windshield wipers up like that? Is there a reason for that?

That's a trick I learned while a student in Vermont.... The wiper blades can't get frozen to the windshield like that: thus prolonging the life of the wiper transmission and the wiper blades....

Neat ... not sure if I can do that with my mono-arm or not. Then again, I'm only in PA so we don't get that much of a deep freeze threat.

time to kick the wheel clumps, eh? Detroit is the only area I've lived where they salt more than on the CT shore. Do they still cover the streets withy salt before a storm like they did 20 years ago?

I want to do this on our E300D, can you tell me how you achieved the great results.

When I cleaned my engine, I used some Gunk Grease stuff, scrubbed the dirt with a brush and hosed it down. I then applied engine finish spray when dry.
I didnt achieve a clean engine like yours, you must have put a lot of elbow grease into achieving these results!
E300D,

Sorry for the delay in response. I took another road trip to the Central Coast this weekend (AMAZING! - if interested, check out some pics I captured of the elephant seals, and some other landscapes, here.)

Regarding the engine, contrary to Alan Hamm's assertion, I really don't do anything other than wipe down the engine bay with a terry cloth each time I wash the car. I did NOTHING, as far as cleaning, to the engine when the head was replaced. Also, I clean all rubber and plastic components with my favorite car care product, Leatherique, on a regular basis. The PO was also very religious about keeping the engine clean, so it's easy for me to stay on top of it. Lastly, and most importantly, this is, and always has been, a corrosion free CA car. I should point out the IP is <5 years old, which has a lot to do with its condition.
