something like that

Friendly AND polite?

I'll try!

Dear mslipac,

Welcome to this forum. You will find that there is a vast amount of information on this site.

One area where a vast amount of information has been given is the "Oil" issue. The archives of this forum are filled with debates and data on oil. You will find more info than you will want to look at so settle in for a long day/night of reading and enjoy. Once you see the depth of coverage on this subject then you will probably want to delete your original thread or be prepared to be ignored or get a repeat of what is already in the archives. Please don't be offended.

Kevin

Grdenko,

How's that ?

Oh geez, look mslipac's registered date! November 2002! So we have to be polite for over a year? When are we allowed to be sarcastic? 2 years? 3?

Look at my registered on date. I've earned the right to be a crochety old man.

I tried all sorts of oils in the 300CD.

Mobil1 5w-40 delvac 1
mobil1 15w-40 delvac 1300
Kendall 15w-40 (from the dealer)
Castrol 15W-40 (from the dealer)

didnt notice a single difference...

in the E420.. since it's had Castrol GTX (20W-50/10W-40) all its life.. it gets that...

the Celica gets whatever Jiffy Lube put in it (Pennzoil 5w-30).. ill change the oil myself this winter and throw in Castrol GTX/Mobil1 (10W-30) since they are easily available.

WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Sounds like fun Okay, my turn to jump into the fray...

I'll second the vote for Chevron Delo 15W-40...I've been using that in every diesel I've owned (a total of 4, out of a total of 6 vehicles ), and have never had an oil-related problem.

I agree with Grdenko. No reason to be rude about it, since:

A) I don't see anyone's name as owning this site,

B) No one is under any obligation or duress to click on this thread. You don't care about oil, move on.
