Odometer

I have 79 300d benz and the other day it was just about to turn over to 200k and stopped, the odometer makes a clicking noise now as the speedometer will wave in a 5mph range of the actual speed when driving. How do I get the odometer to work again so there is no clicking and an accurate speedometer?
