Viva! Herr Diesel
Over the holidays an old neighbor came back to visit relatives nearby. He stopped by his old neighborhood to say hello to some of his remembered friends.
He found me in my driveway changing the filters on my old 300D and asked if it was the same car me remembered from fifteen years ago when I arrived in the hood. It was. "That car was OLD when you moved here! And it was even older when I moved away. It still runs?!" How is that?! he asked He told me that my MB had inspired him to buy a MB for himself. But alas he didn’t pay close attention and bought a gasser. He went on to lament that after four years (new in '98 mind you ) he had to sell it due to constant maintenance problems and costs. Viva! Herr Diesel!

Good story on longevity. I generally keep them forever myself. But I didn't happen on MB's until a couple of years ago.
