where are the brushes located on blower motor?

My blower motor operated intermittently. I took the blower motor out this morning, trying to replace the brushes. The blower motor housing is made of plastic and says:"Siemens 1BB52".
Any body knows where the brushes are located?

Thank you

The brushes are under the metal cap on the end opposite the blower cage. You need to pry the metal tabs up and remove the cap. the brushes are under there.

I hope I am correct. It was awhile ago when I took mine apart. I will check the repair book that I bought from ************** and let you know if there are any changes.

Also, the solder joints are heavy. You will need an iron that has more than 30 watts to de-solder in my experience.

Have fun.

Paul, thank you for the reply.

Where are the metal tabs?

How do you take apart the "fan" from the shaft of the motor? The "fan" is made of plastic material. Some how I do not see any bolts attached the "fan" to the shaft.

I have attached a photo here.(I don't know if the "Attach file" function will work)

Thank you

Steve,

You need to use a drift or punch and carefully drive the shaft out of the fan. As for the tabs, I can have the info to you tomorrow. The book is in my car which is up the hill in our winter parking area (driveway snowy, approx. zero outside).

If the tabs are not on the end opposite the fan, they are under the fan (forgive me, the memory is not what it used to be). Carefully open the tabs and the end should come off.

If you need additional info, PM me and let's see how I can get the info to you.
