Vacuum pump repalacement cost

Good evening,

I just approved a repair to my 1985 300SD of $250.00 to replace the vacuum pump which would put the door and trunk locks back in service. Is that in the ball park? Five new GP's and the heater sencer line repair was $350.00 which I thought was fair. This 30 year Mercedes mechanic is new to me and I want not to question his policy or rates so please help me gain confidence.

300SD
350 SDL
Unimog DoKa Mercedes Monster Truck.

Jim Maddox
PS What if my mechanic reads this??????????????

The vac pump is $150 to $170 new in the box. If he is really giving you a new one. $300 seems fair. If you don't have to life a finger. If he is only removing, rebuilding, and replaceing... I don't know what to think.

The price of the GP and heat thing... I don't know.

Pete
