Yet Another Bad Shut-Off Valve!!!
hello,
I will try to be nice and not show the level of pee'd off that I am at the fact that I am on my third new, defective shut-off valve!! They are of the "Ronak" brand and all have worked for about a week and then don't hold any more vacuum and the car will not shut down. The worst part about this is that I am working on an old lady's (she's 82) 1983 300SD. It has 144k on it and is the smoothest running diesel I have come across. I wouldn't mind so much if it were mine, but after doing nearly 2 grand worth of work for her and everything else working great, this shutt off valve issue is driving me nuts. I confirmed it wasn't anything else by testing everything and even switching my old shut-off valve into her car and it worked flawlessly. I just think I have come across a bad batch of defective valves, but then I read on this board that others have experienced the same problem of these valves failing prematurely. Anyone know where I can gert a non-"Ronak" kind? Thanks so much for letting me vent. adam Last edited by adamb; 01-17-2004 at 09:00 PM. |
