Trans shifting slowly into first

Last night after a nice long day at the office I went out to my 300SD and after a brief warmup backed her out and shifted to D. No go. After revving it a little it began to slowly move ahead and then jerked into gear.
Same thing at every stop. This morning I pulled the vacuum line off and put a golf tee in there, made it shift into gear somewhat better but it is still not good. This trans was rebuilt about 2.5 years ago, had a two year warrantly. Still have to verify the date, when I got home last night the power was out from a windstorm and couldnt find anything. Will check that date tonight.
Question is, is this the famous B2B valve? Or could it be a pump gone bad? Any thoughts out there?
The other question is obvious, am I going to get into more trouble by continuing to drive the old wreck? Once it gets going the trans shifts smoothly and my daily drive is 110 miles round trip on the highway.

What is the fluid level and how many miles since the trans was last serviced?

I checked the fluid level last night shorly after finding the trans was not operating correctly. The fluid was right up to the top line, and was very clean. I put in Mobil One synthetic with the rebuilt trans 36,000 miles ago.
As a note this trans has shown no problems, has shifted firmly and without any flaring since the rebuild.
