The week that it wouldn't start it was getting down to zero every night. While the fuel probably was gelled in the system I think the biggest problem was that I didn't have adequate energy in the battery to turn it over for very long. I glowed it twice then it fired on maybe all 5 cylinders at a alright speed then slowed down to the point where it was hopeless. Now that it is warmed up and this probably won't happen again since it is February already but I think I'll start off with a new adjustable voltage regulator to bring the battery voltage up to a better value.
Thanks for the advice on the mixing, I'll keep that in mind next time our temperatures stay down in that range. You are correct, there is no such thing as #1 here, just #2 and Kerosene.
