Question Length comparison of 300 and 190 series?

Hi-

I am looking at getting a 1983-1993 300D, 300SD, 300DT, 300DT, or a 1985-1990 190D.

I live in an area where I have to parallel park in relatively small and hard-to-find parking spaces. (Although a longer car might be better than my current BMW 320i with NO POWER STEERING! Man are my shoulders getting big!)

Can anyone give me a rundown of the lengths of those models/years or point me to a resource where I could easily locate this info myself? Thanks!

-Aaron

Dear MonsieurBon:

I don't have exact info for you, but I believe 190D's length is about same as that of your BMW 320i.

300SD, 300DT, 300DT are quite a lot longer and bigger. 300D is a bit shorter than these other 3.

175.0 vs 186.6. You're talking a foot.

Thanks! Guess I'll stay away from that SDL, huh?

Yeah, my 320i is 177.48 inches. The euro version is 6 inches shorter, but doesn't get that lovely 5mph battering ram of a bumper I have.

Do any of those models have a trunk pass-through for skis?

I don't think the 124's do, but I could be wrong. The 123's definitely don't have that...but, as mentioned, the wagon's got the same overall length as the sedan, so putting skis in that wouldn't be a problem...you'd also have the roof rack.

(yes, I secretly want a wagon )

Most MBs of the 80s don't/can't have a pass-through because the fuel tank is behind the back seat. Wagons are different and the 190s might be as well.
