I'm in!

OK, I took the plunge. I wanted a turbo diesel to make the daily 50 round trip to the new office location. Seems to be a clean, well maintained car. Time will tell.

For a second I thought it was a 300SDL that sold for a little over $1000 on ebay yesterday.

Details, Details

Hey I gave you a picture.

1984, body straight. 2 minor rust pimples on the rear quarter panel (I've fought rust before and one time I won). Interior--standard cracks in the dash pad, some wear on the front seats. All elec. and the A/C work.

Low miles--only 298,000.

I'll start with a complete maintenance (fluids, filters, etc). I spent four years as a mechanic in a foreign car garage and logged a lot of time on the old 220/240Ds. But that was in 1974. Any pointers on these routine maintenance items will be appreciated.

Aw heck. At that milage, she's just broken in
Sounds like a good find.
Check for water leaks around the bottom of the rear window.
Do all the HVAC vents operate? Common problem area for these.
Front suspensions on these take a beating from the heavy car and engine combo. Also front sub-frame bushings.
