Wood Trim For Glovebox w123

Well yesterday, as I was putting stuff in the front seat. I accidently cracked the wood trim for the glovebox.(the wood trim was hanging off a little bit) I was going to glue it back today actually but now I don't think I can. Does anyone know where I could get the wood trim for the glovebox on my 1980 240D or have one I could buy. But, it'd have to be in mint condition.

First place you should look is ebay. Most of the time they are part of a set but even then you'll often pay less for all of the pieces then you would if you only bought the one piece from a wrecking yard.
Good luck!

I do believe I have that piece out in my garage from my old car. Make me an offer and it is yours.

What glue would you use to attach it?

I used Anchor-tite epoxy for my trim. Comes in a two-part syringe type system. Worked great. They'll never fall off again.

Glove box door trim

That one is a pita to get off. I tried to pull one off a donor and broke the glove box locking mechanism trying to squeeze the slider tabs together enough to remove the slider and then get the wood trim off. I finaly gave up as I didn't want to destroy my working glove box lock.

Anyone got any tricks to pulling that slider on the latch mechanism? I still have a good piece of wood that I reglued to the metal backing but don't want to buy a new blue glove box door after I destroy my lock...

I've glued that on before with just some weatherstrip adhesive, or on the other pieces I've taken the factory metal portion out and use 3M's acyrlic double sided panel tape. As long as the surfaces are clean I don't think that stuff ever lets go, unless you put a heat gun on it.
