Smile Fixed My Tach.

Thanks to the advice of board members I fixed my tach using a derivative of the "Foam Peanut" method. In my case I wadded up 4 or 5 rubber bands and used a 1/8 " rubber o ring of the correct diameter. Works Sweeeet!! Now to see how long it lasts.

Thanks for a great site!!!!

I loked at a replacement part. $80 if I was looking at the right part. If it starts acting up again I'll replace it.

solder it

mine is temporarily fixed with a cigarette butt. my dad fixed his by taking it apartl, scraping the silicone off the circuit board and he found that a little wire had pulled out of the circuit board and was not connecting(foam peanut pushes down on the board thus connecting the wire) he fixed this by soldering it. almost all of the circuit boards were flow soldered. meaning if the wire was big enough that it wouldnt get hot enough you get whats called a cold solder joint and you have to go back and resolder it. this is the same thing that often happerns on the cc amp circuit board.
i will soon try to solder mine but for now the butt works.
