Filters and part numbers

I know I'm going to get some responces to do a search, but I've done multiple searches & haven't turned up anything. I want to change my oil filter brand to Mann. I can get them locally from a parts supplier, but I need the exact Mann part number. What is it? If there are some other brands, please include them with part numbers also. I am currently using Purolator oil filters and don't like them. I'd rather change. I realize I can order them on-line for about $6-7 + shipping, but I can get them a little cheaper than that from my parts supplier.

Thanks
C

You could try a Hengst filter, part # E196HN D03. This is the one for my '83 TD. Actually this filter will work on any 617 engine, which was used in the W123 series diesels.
The 3 OEM filters for MB are MANN, Hengst, and Knecht.
I just turned the box around and it list the Knecht part number also, it is OX 78 D. There is a chart with comparable filter part numbers. It list the Purolator part number as L47056.

Thanks for both of your replies. These were the three brands I was targeting, but at the time of my original post I could only remember the name Mann. And yes, L47056 is the Purolator number. It seams like it's pretty cheaply made. When at the store the last time I found one from I think ProOne. I think it's a Fram company. I took it out of the box & compared it to the Purolator. The looked identical, both were made in India & on both, the bottom cardboard piece was fram orange.

Now if I could just find some Delvac 1 I'll be in shape.

Thanks ya'll.

AvLube.

Or check at the local parts stores for a new Mobil 1 oil for trucks and SUV's. I'm told it is relabeled Delvac 1.
