euro vin help...
 

The bug has bitten again, and I'm looking at a third diesel MB. This one is a 300TD from europe. Supposed to be:83, non turbo, 5cyl ? 4 speed.
any of this make sense? (engine either replaced or has been rebuilt)
I put the vin in an MB decoder online and it told me the car should be a 123 with a 4 speed made in Germany.... burning gas...
anyone help with this?

A 123.190 is a 300TD non-turbo so that part checks out.

That's probably WDB as in the VIN prefix of US-spec MBs.

123 = chassis series

1 = Diesel

90 = body model - TD's are 90, TDt's are 93

1 = LHD

0 = stick

029862 = serial number

The serial number seems kinda low for an 83. 83 might be the year it came into the US unless there's an tag on the body that confirms it with a build date.

Thanks! I'm going on what I was told on the vin, so it could be a B instead of an 8.
