i did it!
i finally adjusted my valves. every one of them was so far off i couldnt ever fit the smallest feeler guage in between. they were holding open! when i started i could easily turn the engine from the p/s pump with little effort, now i have you really pull on it to turn it and you can hear it compressing! i had a weird sond almost like a knocking sound and that too is now gone.
also as i thought it starts really well cold. so long story short it runs absolutley beautiful!:) |
oops
it i couldnt even fit the smallest feeler guage between any of the valves.

way to go---I'm still trying to find the time and the courage to do this. I've never worked on any engine.

valve adjustment
its really pretty easy once you get started. it would be easier with the real wrenches. i used two harbor freight wrenches and in some places it was a b*tch. the injectors get in the way. but once you get the hang of it its not so hard
