IF the car is as clean as it appears in the photo, and truly everything works (cruise, ALL window regulators, sunroof, A/C still filled with R-12, etc) then it's easily worth $4-$5k. That's a huge "if" though, especially when offered for sale by someone who doesn't know what the heck they're talking about when it comes to cars. BTW, if the turbo "engages with authority", that means it needs an ALDA adjustment and it's probably slow off the line. The turbo "engagement" should be pretty seamless, not a kick in the rear, when everything is adjuster properly. If she lets the auction close and then sells it locally, she'll get a negative feedback from the poor eBay bidder who will probably be pretty ticked off.
Also, while the 1985 is the most desirable of the 123's, you can get a nice 124 diesel for about the same money (ok, one that probably needs a little TLC, but still!) and IMO you'd be better off with the 124. It's a MUCH better car all around, but not as tolerant of abuse as the 123, and the 124 requires you to do your own DIY repair work because you'd go broke taking it to a shop (or the stealer). Just my $0.02... |
