Stevo,

What ratio do you use for the Amsoil 2 cycle mix? I was leary of using it 100 to 1, though I would try mixing the 7oz bottle with 5 gallons of gasoline which is about 90 to 1. Has that ratio worked for you?

I have the Amsoil 100 to 1 oil 2 cycle oil but I haven't mixed it yet. I was waiting until I ran out of the non synthetic 2 cycle oil I have been using which will be soon.

What type of saws are you using? I have some very old saws that called for 1 pint of regular (non detergent) engine oil to a gallon and newer saws that call for a 40 to 1 mix of special (non synthetic) 2 cycle engine oil.

Would the 90 to 1 mix be OK to use on the older saws to? Possibly they called for more oil in the gasoline because at that time there wasn't a good 2 cycle oil available.

Peter

I use it pretty close to 100:1 and the saw runs fine. I have an old Stihl 028 that normally uses 25:1 mix. I only cut about 3 cords in the fall so it doesnt get that much use.

AMSOIL 15W40 in 2.5 Gallon "jugs" - two of them runs $71 = $3.50 a quart,

That seems like a good price. I payed close to that when I bought a 55 gal drum. That took a little "smothing over" with the wife
