Just a helpful tip on leaking oil pan
Hello everyone,
My wife is not talking to me as I blew her off on sunday, She wanted to go to an art fair. Instead I thought that I could repair my leaking oil pan in under one hour and go to sams club and the art frair and then to her parents for dinner. well it took longer than one hour, about 3 hours so now she is pissed off. But the good news is I figured out why my transmission gasket was leaking. I bought a new torque wrench that is accurate at that low level and I decided to clean and lube all the bolts as they were sticking and causing uneven torque on the gasket. I cleaned them all real good and put it all back together and slowly torqued them up, using a criss cross pattern. I am pretty sure that it is not leaking now. So just as a helpful hint be sure to clean all those bolts real good next time you are in there and hopefully your gasket can seat securely without any leaks have fun bob c I guess that my wife will not approve of my buying a new fender bass today. The local pawn shop just got one American made Oh well |
