Key Switch Question

I have aquired an '85 300SD. The electrical issues are many but I'm wondering how many might be linked to a bad key switch. Currently, the car is configured to start with a set of wires that come into the cabin.

1. No guages work
2. Headlights blink on and off with the battery cables on the battery. Must disconnect the negative battery cable just to preserve the charge
3. Key switch turns off the car
4. No blinkers work
5. The hazzards work
6. The radio works
7. the blower motor doesn't work

How many of these can be traced to the interrupt of current because of the bad key switch?

Thanks

Don

Actually, the blinking headlights sounds like a factory alarm that has been triggered. Key switch shuts the car off because the vacuum circuit works - nothing electrical there. But all the other electrical stuff not working could be because of the alarm. In other models, the alarm module is in front of the passenger's footwell - you lift the carpet and it is along the firewall. Then just unplug the module. Hopefully, you will find it there.
