"You must be one of those old geesers back in the '70's who probably mistook the then new Ford Granada for a Mercedes."
??? No actually Born in 1977 I have never mistaken a Ford or any other make for a Mercedes or vice versa. I have had many models from 108 to129 and I love Mercedes Benz with a passion yet I did not like the 210. As this is what this forum was about I simply posted my opinion. If you cannot see the similarity that is fine. There is, however, no need to be an a**. Again you make an assumption about someone you don't even know. |

"Sorry, but I still don't see a similarity in style between that Taurus and the 210. The taillights are much rounder and cleaner in the 210. Completely different from what I can see. Actually, that Taurus' rear looks like a copy of Mercedes old taillight scheme set in the early 70's with the W116 and R107.
IMHO, it seems all new cars look the same now. With the exception of the Bangle Bomber Bimmers." I know. It is a shame that so many cars look alike. To me it still invokes a feeling of similarity to the Taurus but... Anyway, everyone has a different perspective. |

Every car made today is a "Bubble-Car". I guess the W210 is almost a bubble-car, but I think it is just a bit square enough to be a Benz, lol.
Oh yeah, I was reading R&T the other day previewing sports cars concepts for the future. The bumpers were non-existant...I mean, if somebody backed up into you, or hit you from behind, the headlamp assemblies would take the place of the bumpers! In other words, the radiator support, or the chassis-frame of the vehicle would be in jeopardy. Style over practicality. It's what people want. |
