Exclamation First drive in my MB in 2 months

Also first time back on this site. I left Napa to open our sister restaurant in Manhattan. The only diesel I've been in is a bus! It felt so good to go through the start up ritual and then go for a cruise in the old rattlin' smokey beast! Definitely good to be back and driving myself.

I work at the French Laundry in Yountville

We were opening up a restaurant called Per Se at the new Time Warner Building when we had an electrical fire. We can't do anything until all the damage has been repaired. Meanwhile at the Laundry we're renovating. It's strange to be sitting idle when I usually work about 80 hours a week.

French Laundry is by far one of th better restaurants I have been to. Per Se is supposedly the most atticipated restaurant opening in New York. Sorry to here about the electrical fire. How long of a delay in the opening? Maybe we should schedule a diesel fest in Napa with dinner following at the French Laundry.

great article in Food & Wine about Larua C. I was glad to see her mention Fioridella florist in the article.

For me I have to passions outside of life in general,

Food and cars.

Henry

Interesting...

Wow, a Diesel meeting at French Laundry!!! I can safely say that this would be the one and only car related event my wife would attend!

Talking gotta plan in advance

Hopefully, we'll be in motion within the next month and a half. The Laundry should reopen by the middle of May. Napa is a great place to cruise in a Mercedes especially between Spring and Autumn. It would be fun to organize a get together combining cars, food, wine, bocce ball etc... It'd be a great day.

Sorry to go off-topic, but speaking of Napa and cruising, quick question for you. I've heard that they've got a big reputation in Napa, so I'm wondering if you've ever heard of the Chaser?

No, I haven't

Forgive me for being naive, is the chaser a car club event or the police. The reason I'm asking is because the police around here don't play around. My driving record was clean for the longest time until I moved up here. It seems like if you even think about speeding, boom, you're being pulled over. All in all, its probably a good thing, there's a bunch of drunks on the road out here.

Actually, neither. They're a youth boating program that's actually technically part of the Boy Scouts of America. I'm part of a similar program (hence my avatar) down here. I was just thinking that you might have heard of them 'cause the Chaser has a lot more direct community support than most of the other units in the Bay Area.

If you're still wondering what I'm talking about and/or want more info, here's their website.

THat's dear to hear about those guys. I was a sea scout in the Alameda for the longest Time, and my first love was on the CHaser. We dated for 3 years, what a great group those guys are, and they do have great community support. Nice to hear they are doing well still.
