"elephant hose mod" on '98-'99 E300's
Many TDI owners reroute their CCV tube with a long hose to the ground under the engine, and cap off the intake to the engine. While this is technically only legal for 'off road use', supposing one wanted to do that, what do you guys think? On my tdi, I just ran heater hose to the bottom of the engine compartment and used a rubber cap to block the hole in the intake stream. Anyone know what size cap would be needed or if there is any reason not to do this on a 98-99 turbodiesel?
