Cruise Control - 1992 300d
I JUST RETURNED FROM A 2000 MILE TRIP AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKED FINE FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT IT WORKED FINE FOR THE TRIP, THE BAD NEWS IS THAT NOW IT DOESN'T. WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS FIRST ACTIVATED IT ENGAGES, BUT AFTER 15 - 20 SECONDS IT DISENGAGES. ANY HELP IN RESOLVING THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANKS, DALE 1992 300D 1983 300D 1982 380 SL |

It could be electrical soldering problem, make a search and you will find alot of info about this subject. I would like to know what the average mpg you had in this trip

Thanks for the response. I did some checking as you suggested and it sounds like it may be a solder problem. I didn't check my milage on this trip because I have owned the vehicle for over 10 years and have checked milage many times. I consistantly get 29+ mpg on the highway. The desiel is great for gas milage. Around town I get 25 mpg.
Thanks, Dale |

cruise control
Check your BRAKE LIGHT BULBS if they are of a higher wattage( current) than spec it can wreack havok with the DISENGAGE circuitry and eventually blow it. I have replaced one module and saved two using new output transistors!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK Mebedez |
