Love your wagon, dislike the clear housings. They look out of place, like an afterthought.

hey mike, i got my corners from www.importvision.com for $35. i found out about him because he's teh one that sells the most of them on ebay. so probably the same source.

i didn't even bother using the plug they gave me, i just kept the originals as i've heard these lenses are lower quality - though it isn't obvious yet.

as for the bulbs, just go to your auto parts store with your old bulb in hand, you will see on the rack similar bulbs that are amber colored 12V/14V. mine cost $2.77 and i saw them right when i walked in the door. plug and play and it worked out well! i like the way they give the lense a slight amber hue when off. at night you CANT tell that the lenses are clear. interesting, i thought.

by the way, im moving to manhattan beach in two weeks, so we will be relatively close.

eric

Mark, have not done the city lights yet.

I appreciate everyone's honest feedback. Initially I wasn't sure I would like them either. I realized though, that I needed to divorce myself from my familiarity with the w123 body styling and try and make an objective, unbiased assesment of the clear corners. That's a hard thing to do, but for the most part it is possible. With my bias aside, I feel like the clear corners look VERY good. Your average Joe thinks they are factory and blend very well with the chrome and clear euro lenses, better so than the Amber lenses. Notice BMW's, w124's, Volvo's, even expeditions have these clear corners.

Obviously I am not going for a 100% factory look - i don't have the becker stereo, i have chocolate piping, and other various odds and ends. However, I am trying to keep my car, practical, functional, somewhat factory with some upgrades to the current trends in styling.

This is not a written defense in response to those who didn't like my clear corners. Instead, I just wanted you to try an "attempted" objective assesment as well, it may change the way you see your car. E.G. sometimes you don't realize how bad your wheels looked until you repainted them, that show "what not to wear" people don't realize how bad they dress until someone from a more objective stand points steps in and explains things.

What I love about this board, however, is that people CAN be honest and give feedback, and I can rely on that feedback to help steer my decisions about modifications and upgrades. The clear corners are definitely not etched in stone, I am open to change.

Although I would not own a black car, your black 300TD is one of the most impressive cars I have ever seen. I`m just not sure about the clear corners.
We own two white Passat TDI wagons and have a white 124 300TD on the way. Just ordered some Hellas for the TDIs and they come with clear corners...debating whether to put them on with the Hellas or leave the amber OEMs, guess I`ll do it to one and not the other and see what happens. I`m sure to be looking for a headlight upgrade for the MB and wonder about going clear on the corners. With the white cars the amber is the only color on the entire vehicle, could look good without that color.....we`ll see. Thanks for posting the pics Peyton.
Again,I love the looks of your wagon, very classy.

mike_td, can you post some pics of your car in the daylight?
