I've got my MB bypass fuel line but...
What's the best way to cut it cleanly and without fraying?
What's the best way to remove the old stuff? What's the best way to finish off the last one? -shawnster |

You can always reuse the special plug thats on the last injector as I did on mine. It's just a bit tough to push the plug into the hose.
Is there an easy way to push the hose onto the injector barbs. I had a tough time on mine and they didn't completely go down to the injector body. Does it help to heat the hoses or coat the barbs with a little grease to get the hoses on good?

I live about 3 hours south of Seattle and about 1/2 hour from I-5. For obvious reasons I don't get up to Seattle much as I'd like to. We always hit Pike's Place when were up there. They've got some great fresh fish markets there.
Portland on the other hand is much closer, only about a 45 minute drive for me but there's nothing to compare to Pike's Place though.

as to inserting the new line onto the injector end it sometime it helps to really straighten the hose out as much as you can and hold it with two hands and insert it onto the injector part all in one motion with maybe a 1/4 turn as you do it. kinda hard to put into words but hope you get the idea. i have used needle nose pliers to remove the remains of the old lines with good success. they usually break just above the nipple and leave a small part of the line to remove. reuse the old plug for the last line or as bill said a small wood screw.

A razor blade or exacto blade cuts the hose and threads the cleanest for me. If you use a blade to get rid of the last bits of old hose you run the risk of scratches on the barbed fitting, and it can then leak even with new hose. A suitably sized ball bearing works quite well to fill the short section on the last injector. Does the "special plug" look like a short metal cylinder? Have never actually seen a real one.

The special plug actually looks like a fat pushpin with a solid barb on the end.
