brakes

need brake pads for the front on my 83 300sd. what ones are good to get off fastlane. im looking for the most quality pads on fastlane. any info would be appreciated

I think there are several good brands and I doubt there's much difference among them. I use ATE's which are one of the OE brands.

I used the Textar's that were in the Yellow box, from what I heard these are the OE pads they used in Europe... Make sure you use pleanty of the sythetic brake grease, or the will squeal very loudly...

Ditto on the Textar's. I also hear they create less brake dust to dirty up your wheels. They are also supposed to last longer than some other pads.

Had textar pads that lasted two years on 89 300e with no squealing but lots of brake dust, changed two months ago to PBR deluxe with no brake dust but some occasional squealing.

Vote Textar yellow box also. FastLane has the grease. Look under brake anti-squeel grease. $1.58 ea.

Phil has the grease, the stuff I got was around $10 For a single tube, but it has done several brake jobs...
