Nothing like pushing your MB backwards out of a parking spot and then "hotwiring" it to start so you can go home.
I pulled out of the driveway and drove to the store. Pulled into a parking spot and put the car in park but the shifter had nothing! It was stuck in drive, seems the spring clip that holds everything together fell off on the way to the store and nothing was connected. Car sits to low to the ground to get my fat a$$ under it to even see what was going on so I had to push it back, set the parking brake, and jump start it. At least it was stuck in drive and not reverse
When I got home I found the rubber bushing that connects it all is shot and no place to get one on a Sunday so car is up on ramps due to the failure of a $1.00 part till tomorrow. At least it is an easy and cheap fix. Man you would think a part like that would be made to last more than 280k miles!
