The power gained will vary with how bad it is needed.

I presume you mean the sound doesn't work on the right side, if this is a factory radio then it is just one wire at fault I don't recall which off hand but I rewired my radio to be in four channels. It is also quite possible the wire is off where it goes to the fader in the center console, this could cause this same effect. Yes any radio should work the speakers are a little trickier to find though as the odd sizes.

Ok, in first gear does it barely go and then really take off when the rpm's get up to say 2,000 or 2,500? If it does like that then the ALDA might need an "adjustment" or the line running from the intake manifold to the injection pump may be clogged (it lets the IP run more fuel when the boost comes up). You can take that line loose at the back of the manifold and clean the banjo bolt which is where it usually clogs, that can make a big difference if it's clogged.

It is a mechanical fuel compensator for pressure, in essence it is what realizes the turbo is going so it sends the extra fuel in. There is a hard plastic line which goes from the back of the intake manifold to the top of the Injection Pump (IP) which tends to clog with carbon. The ALDA should not need adjustment but if you haven't checked recently then it would be a good thing to check for the line's ends to be clear.
