What kind of wheels are those?

leathermang 03-17-2004 01:01 PM

Those may be hubcaps...

lietuviai 03-17-2004 01:08 PM

Yes those are the old style hup caps that you'd usually find on the 240's. As far the turbo motor goes, I bet someone put the 5-cyl engine in it.

I think the wheels are just the regular steel 14" rims with painted to match wheel covers (hubcaps). Looks kinda fishie to me. What kind of engine "DONT KNOW" ? leather, always a red flag cause most of the time its MB tex (in a 240D) and if the seller doesn't know the diff, what else doesn't he know?

Youse guys better edit those posts to say "wheel covers" instead of "hub caps" before PEH comes along. :o

Yes, they are wheel covers. Too bad there's no engine pics.

Minor work needs done on the interior, but no pictures... Hmm, think I will pass.

lietuviai 03-17-2004 07:38 PM

Hubcaps, wheel covers, what's the difference?

william rogers 03-17-2004 08:07 PM

When in high school (late fifties) you got a good scolding if caught stealing hubcaps but it was a mandatory 10 years for stealing wheel covers......

Leather was always an option but the turbo is a dead give -a-way. No turbos on 240D 4 cyl engines. However, some hacks added a fan blower to them. Pass!!
