I tried calling numerous wrecking yards in the Portland OR area and none seemed to have any 300D turbo diesels. A few yards said they weren't even interested in having them in their yards and that probably my best bet was to search out the self service wrecking yards.
So I figure I'm sort of out of luck finding used parts for my 300D locally.
I took care of numerous errands driving around in the 300D today. I put about a 100 miles on it. It started like usual and idled a little roughly until it warmed up. The morning temperature was around the mid 60's. Once it was warmed up it ran great and had enough power. I even needed to use the A/C and it worked great and it didn't bog the car down much. The only problem that it seemed to have was that noisy injector. If the car keeps running as good as it did today, I can live with that noisy injector.
Anyone have one good used turbo diesel injector they don't need?

DJ - unless the mileage or performance fell off alot I would just run it and not worry too much about the noisy injector.

Jim - you're absolutely right, there's no reason to worry about the injector if everything else seems fine. The MPG's have never been really anything to brag about anyway (20-22 MPG's). Believe it or not, I really enjoy driving the car. It's just perfect to get around town. It's easy to maneuver and stick into tight parking spaces. Maybe I'm just being too picky with the poor little car. I can't expect a 19 year old car to be perfect. I've been reading around in the forum and there are members that are way worse off than I am at this point.
I think we can put this thread to rest.
Thanks everyone for all the help and support you have given me!

I'm going to put up a new thread to see if someone by any chance wants to get rid of a good spare used injector.

I came across some information elsewhere on this board today regarding the method of checking chain elongation. Since there is a rather lengthy discussion of it in this thread, some links are in order. Please see the posts by stevebfl here and here.

I gather from the information Steve posted that the marks at the cam are not "precision" marks, thus are not valid for anything finer than 1 tooth (18 degree) measurements.
