Transmission Cooler?
hey guys,
Is it good to put an aftermarket transmission cooler on our MB cars?? Has anybody done it?? thx... |

Unless you're doing frequent heavy duty towing, it's probably not worth it.

Our cars already have a trans cooler. I don't see why you need another one.

It depends on the vehicle. If the trannies have a reputation for a significantly high failure rate, then I'd say yes. Same goes for towing. I put one in a Hyundai Excel as the 86 models had a poor rep for tranny issues. Opening the hood would often reveal a VERY hot engine bay. Adding the cooler, helped that tranny run about 60 degrees cooler. Unfortunately it's one side effect was to make it a nervous one to sit in traffic in. Since their engine cooling systems were just adequate, the added load made that engine run ALOT hotter.
