There are people who post here you might NOT want to know...
Joined a thread with the innocuous start "I love my car"...Turned out it was a post by a yahoo with a '91 300E who engaged in a 100 mph pi$$ing match with some kid on the highway. I've observed that Mercedes-Benz can be divided into "rich people's cars" and "smart people's cars"...don't know how rich this jasper is, but he (and a number of others who joined the thread) I don't include in the "smart" category. Seek it out...and be afraid!

My W115 will only go (theoretically) 85something mph. So, for me, it would be more like a dribbling match.

I had my 300D up to a blistering 80 MPH awhile back. I was impressed.

Yeah, my owner's manual says that my 240 tops out at 86 mph. I think I've actually had it up to about 90, but that might have been going downhill...
Besides, the engine's roaring so much at those types of speeds, I'm actually a little afraid. lol
