Clear fuel line questions?

The engine is a 1987 603. There are 3 clear fuel lines that I can find. Two run up to the fuel filter. (I hope thats enough info) The third one is under the intake manifold and will be staying there, until the manifold comes off again or it leaks. But the other two I would like to replace. Are they a special line? The look like 1/4 inch drinking water lines. What are they, and where can I get them?

Thanks kmaysob but I think there supposed to be clear. They are original as far as I know. I will ask the dealer and see what they say. Thanks.

Why do you wish to replace them?
Leaking? allowing air in ?
Mine are original clear lines (now brown and almost totally opaque), 24 years old and still work fine.

Those are clear plastic lines. Call Phil at Fastlane to order them. You'd want to order the whole part because it comes with the ends and the O rings. Trying to replace just the lines will most likely break the fittings at the ends. Those lines for my 1999 were about $8 each.

Thanks Rick I'll give Phil the first crack at them. TonyFromWestOz I am replaceing them because I already replaced all the other fuel lines in the engine compartment. I like knowing that I have all new fuel lines. I don't like to wait for things to break, because they usually do on a rainy, cold morning or night while I'm running late for something.

Get the associated washers for both sides of the banjo fitting. I've never thought to replace mine. I don't think I've ever read of one breaking (doesn't mean it doesn't happen!)

When I got around to really checking out the lines on the 240 I bought after really cleaning off the grime there were rub marks cutting a good ways into two of the lines from contact with other parts...
