Question Front wheel bearing?

I'm hearing a whine/mumming sound comming from the front passenger side. I jacked up the front and checked the wheels and find no play at all. Could this still be a bad bearing or is it something else. I also swapped the tires to no avail..

Only one way to find out is to check the bearing. When was the last time you had them repacked ?

Little over a year ago, mechanic said they were fine. Replaced the rotor at the time.

I've been fooled more than once with a humming noise thinking I needed new bearings when it turned out I needed new brakes.

I just replace both front and rear brakes along with a tie rod on the same side that is making the noise.

Ahh, in a "normal" vehicle, you can steer from left to right, slalom style, and if you heat the bearing noise louder while turning say left, it's usually the right side bearing(weight thrown on that side).

I don't know if this applies to MB.

What's the bearing repack interval for these things? I hope it's kinda long if I have to set the play with a dial indicator..
