removing fuel stain

My daughter drove around with the fuel cap loose for a week. Nice yellow spray down the side. What cleans this off?

I've tried

car soap
car wax
kerosene
gas

No luck yet

I'd like to hear the answer to this one as well. The inside of the fuel filler area on my W210 is stained.

Reviving an old thread to try to get an answer

I have a fuel stain on the rear quarter panel and would like to get rid of it. Anyone know how?

Danny

Thanks hunter, didn't think to look there. After all that hard work you did putting it together.

I am happy to report that gasoline did the trick.
Lots of gasoline and lots of elbow grease.

Now a good washing and a coat of wax and it'll be good as new.

Danny
