602 engine: what is the thing right next to oil cap?
1992 300D.
On the valve cover (I am not sure what it is. It is on top of the engine), there is oil filler cap. There is something extruded right next to the oil cap. There is sign of seep here. What is this thing? The hose from here seems to be connected to exhaust. |

It is the crank case breather hose. You should be able to buy a new seal ring from the stealership.

Thanks. I just talked with a mechanic. He says it is usual to see some leak there, and I need nothing to do.

I just swapped mine, which was seeping. Very cheap fix.
