Do you know if their stuff is any good? I think I mignt be needing a steering box, but the ones Ive seen are rather pricey... A low mileage totaled w123 could be my saving grace, although I doubt there would be nice ones left...

stuff
I got a brand new never installed dealer set of pads all four corners for a buck a set pree sale. They dont filter brake fluid and sell it to my knowldge. But they do filter gas and give it free to employees and family members and to you and me once a month for free. San jose used to have lots of great parts steering box no problem but all the sudden there's only 1 or 2 diesel cars instead of the 5 or 6 at each yard. Theres 3 yards within hour of my house one is 3 miniutes away.
Just to let you know I dont work there though some times I am there enough they should pay me. |

The best pick n pull is in Rancho Cordova
I've been to the Pick N Pulls in Richmond and Fairfield. The inventory of Mercedes at Rancho Cordova is far bigger and the cars seem to be more intact. I found five different 126's at Rancho C where I usually maybe find one and am lucky if there are two. An added benefit is that Silver Star (MB and Porsche only!) auto recycling is next door. Silver Star can be expensive and you can't remove the parts yourself, but their inventory is great and usually of high quality. Rancho Cordova is a hike, especially from San Jose, I've just had the best luck there.

Silver Star wanted $50 to remove a separator from a 240D - plus $15 for the separator, plus shipping.
I told them I'd pass on that since a brand new one was $85. DDH

Wow!
I guess salvage yards can really try to pull your pants down. The only thing I've bought from Silver Star was a mint coondition steering wheel for $45, seemed reasonable. How's the MB inventory at the San Jose PNP?
