Coachgeo, I'm sorry about your girlfriend. I hope your life is better now. Is Gym Nevada the same as Nevada Fitness Center? I'm guessing that's the gym you're talking about, but it's under a different name now. I've only been there once and it looked nice, but I didn't switch from my current gym because I didn't like the way they were pressuring me to join with their first-time visit fee waivers.
Anyway, I'll check out that bio station as soon as I get my card and I'll let you know what they really have, though I don't think the secretary was lying to me and most likely B05 is all they have.

My bio-benz
hey all,
I am new to the forum. It looks like a few of you have an ongoing biodiesel conversation. I'll just chime in and add my two cents. I have been making biodiesel for three years. I just bought a '80 300CD because I needed a diesel car, and had heard nothing but good things about MB five cylinders. New to MB's , but an old pro at biodiesel. I use B20 in the summer and regular diesel in the winter.
The guy who appraised my car recommended going that route to ease starting in the winter.

History: She was run on French Fry Oil by a previous owner, which really borked the fuel system. Now fixed. Good biodiesel is good, off-spec is bad.

I'm burning B5 in my 1982 240D but really wanna burn B100 but I'm afraid to.
It's running great no real difference for me. I've heard running anything higher will clog up filters VERY quickly. Also I've been told that if ANY of your fuel lines are REAL rubber the biodiesel acts as a solvent and will desolve the lines. Does anyone know what MB switched over to synthetic hoses?

We've been burning B80 (winter blend) and B100 in our '87 300TD since the day we took possession of it some 5 years ago, with no fuel related problems what so ever. You will need to change out the 1/8 ID - 1/4 OD inter-injector lines with Viton tubing... $15, 15 minute job.
The fuel filter clog thing is more of an urban legend than fact. It does occur but not at any near the frequency as is heard on the street.

WVO the way to go?
I'm thinking WVO will be the way to go. I'm afraid if I make biodiesel (which is a fair amount of work), eventually the price of lye and methanol will go up (or the shipping to get it to you), and instead of 70 cents/gallon, it'll be more like $1.50/gallon, while the WVO is still a simpler process, and will still just be about 20 cents/gallon.
I like the biodiesel, but do I really want to mess with chemicals, etc.? Seems like wvo is much easier, safer, and cheaper. Jeff |

Yes you can just start putting it in. No conversion needed.
After 30+ years of dino diesel, I've started running my 240D on biodiesel. I am keeping an eye on my fuel filters and looking out for fuel leaks. None so far. However, I did change my injector return lines not long ago.

BIO Diesel yes. No conversion necessary. You may have to change out some fuel lines. You may have to change filters a bit more often at first. BioDiesel acts as a good solvent vs dino diesel.

B100
We have been running B100 in the MB as well as in our tow vehicle which is a 1997 Ford F250 truck.
The Benz had been running B100 before we bought it. The PO had changed the filters and the fuel lines (to Viton). As I understand it, autos made after 1993 do not need to change out their fuel lines, so we haven't bothered with the truck.
