Where is the bowden cable on the w116?

Is it the solid shaft that runs down the transmission on the passenger side and connects to the throttle linkage? It has several bends in it, (that are suppose to be there mind you). It has an 8mm nut to where it can be adjusted, or I think that is where it is adjusted. Am I talking about the right thing here? The w116 linkage is different than that of the w126. I'll try to post a picture, but won't be able to because I'll be out of town Tuesday and Wednesday.

I think you've got it. I have adjusted mine and it did make the transmission change shift points vs throttle position so....

Kind of. I've adjusted it twice.... the first time was to get it to stand upright and not drag itself over the throttle linkage (thanks PO!). The second time was to adjust it alllll the way out. It made a good change in the way the vehicle shifts, and whenver I get around to it will adjust it back the other way a bit. I don't think it is overly sensitive, but it does still get the job done.

Be carefull with that "e' clamp. It *really* likes flying off into the distance.

Making the rod shorter will raise the rpm of the shift points.
Also be careful and don't tighten the small nut too tight. The plastic end will crack. Mine did and I put two small nylon wire tie wraps on it and it has held well.
