ok. i did the next best thing.

i presented a scenario to another MB enthusiast. i have $300 to buy it but since i really don't have the room nor the funds for the secondary expenses (tax, insurance, maintainance, etc.), i came up with a plan that might fly.

i suggested that he buy it now and i will 'donate' the glass that he needs to get it roadworthy BUT he has to sell it to me when he decides to sell it years from now. hopefully, by that time i'll be in a better financial position to have two cars.

this plan accomplishes all the objectives:
-keeps the car from the crusher
-costs me nothing
-he maintains it
-he gets it into shape for me later on
-he drives other cars so i know it will not be abused
-you diesel fanatics will still talk to me

how's that?

If your plan falls through, I might want to buy the car. Perfesser Leaky blew her head gasket this morning.

Jen Tay, if your deal falls thru please email me. My brother lives in Sneads Ferry north of Wilmington and I think one of us would like to pick it up if its as good as you say.
