i "ghetto rigged" my exhaust and now i need help...

Hey,

My exhaust started to make louder noises so I i went under the car and decided to tackle the problem myself. I cut the pipe in two places and attempted to put it back together with clamps and pipe fittings. Well, it's not working so well since my pipe fittings are a little too big and the whole exhaust is hanging like a piece of crap. I'm probably going to get it fixed professionally tomorrow but I have one question.....

Can I just buy new pipes and install them without welding? It is possible ? All I basically need is the first and second pipe starting from the engine

I basically screwed up my car once again. It only had small leaks and now I have about 10 hangers holding up the exhaust and about 5 clamps holding the new pipe fittings which are almost falling off.

If you also know of any good site that exhaust parts please post it up.

Thank You very much

You can get everything you need from our site sponsor, FastLane, at the top of this page. It will ship to your door in about 5 days and the shipping will be free. The parts will bolt on and you will be happy.

or u can just straight pipe it :)

here is a tip for u tho. if u notice along the exaust there are these heat shield on the upper part held on by bolts. what i did was get a pipe clamp and put it over the exaust and find a bolt to hold it in place against the shield. replacing that bolt essentially. yes i am running straight pipes, but i am young and don't mind the sound yet :)

I wouldn't straight pipe a 240D. There's no turbo to dampen the noise.

Yeah, that 240 would be illegal just about anywhere if straight piped since you don't have a turbo. I doubt you'd ever have a problem with it but it's something to be aware of.
