Question Mercedes Diesel Mechanic in San Diego?

I have a 1995 E300 Diesel. I am wondering if any of you could recommend a good, honest shop or mechanic in San Diego, CA.
Ideally I would like a shop that specializes in Mercedes and familiar with the various diesels.

I think the Joe's Car Studio Shop in Fallbrook where my car is currently at may be ripping me off....

Thanks,
Edward

Diesel mechanic in San Diego

Try

Berts Motorworks
1476 Island Avenue
San Diego, CA
619-318-8227 (Alain Gilot)

I have been using him for several years and when something does not need fixing or parts, he will tell you.

He is a very quiet but nice person and is located on the edge of downtown San Diego

Thanks for the info. What kind of diesel(s) do/did you take to him?

MB mechanic in San Diego

I take a 1980 300sd and a 1977 240d but I see a wide variety of MB's in his shop at any given time including some that look new.

He also owns a diesel and seems to have about the best knowledge of them of anyone I have ever met.

Another thing I like about him is that if something can be fixed instead of having parts swapped out, he will fix it. Many shops that I used to go to seemed to just swap old for new parts until the problem was solved.

I had a 1980 300sd too

I had the 116 body as well. 1980 300sd. Awesome car. Well built and quite a presence. I like them better than the W123. I am also very fond of the W126 300sd. I lusted after a 1981-1985 300sd for a long time growing up. I also lusted after the W124 body style that I now own. I also owned a 1983 300TD Wagon.
